Today, 23rd June 2008, Cardinal José Saraiva Martins, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, came to Ehden, the birthplace of the Patriarch Estephan Douaihy.

During the visit the Cardinal confirmed that Pope Benedict XVI will proclaim on 30th June, that the Patriarch be declared Venerable.
